This neutral shade looks much better

This is my latest interior painting project:

The kitchen walls were painted an atrocious orangey-peach color (that looked like a soft and calm color on the can front, but NOT upon application, my mistake!).

So I went to Home Depot last week and selected a gallon of paint that had primer built in, and repainted my walls this beautiful variation of an eggshell... and I love my kitchen again!

I think it would be better to go with some dark shades in the kitchen area, as kitchen walls can easily get stained and dirty than any other place in the house. So, going with lighter shades is actually a risky one.
