Painting Contractor Disaster

by Heidi
(Modesto, CA)

After owning our home for 8 years we decided that it was time to give the exterior a "facelift" and add some fresh paint.

After calling around and getting some estimates, we were frustrated with pricing. We were ready to throw in the towel and just say forget it because we couldn't afford it. That's when it all began....we were driving and saw this sign on a telephone pole that read something like "Good painters..good prices" well we took the bait.

We called them, got an awesome estimate and we were rolling. Needless to say we were relieved to see that the house would be painted after all.

Well, we should have jumped ship as soon as the painters didn't show up for the FIRST DAY OF WORK!!! After giving some poor excuse they began 2 days later and to make a long story short....NEVER AGAIN!! It was like pulling teeth to get them to work! The work that they EVENTUALLY did was unsatisfactory at best and they left cigarette butts everywhere. The job was supposed to take a week...took almost 3! We ended up hiring another painting contractor to fix their work!

Moral of the story....you get what you pay for! Never again will we cut corners on price.
