Cheap Painting Contractors Are Not Cheap In the Long Run

Basically, my budget was tight, so I found the cheapest home painter I could find. Although he ran his own house painting business, I can see now that he was not a professional, because he offered no warranty on his work.
My house has both aluminum and wood siding. When it came time to power wash the wood the paint contractor apparently had no experience using a power hose and he practically destroyed the wood by using too high of pressure on it.
The reason I hired those painters is because they painted the inside of a friend’s house and they did an OK job for half the price of other competitors. But them not knowing what they were doing for painting the outside of a house, the water made lines and cuts through the wood where they sprayed it. After they painted it you could still visibly see that they made a mistake. Now with this mistake I had to replace the wood siding because it looked horrible.
My first mistake was finding the cheapest and probably the worst painting contractor around, because I was trying to save money. He had told me he had experience but I should have checked out his credentials before hand. I learned that I need to hire a painter who will do quality work and who is reliable with professionalism.
My advice to you is for you to also find a painting contractor who will do the job correctly. Ask around to find the best and most affordable contractor near you, that way you don’t have the headache I had when I had my house painted. Hopefully the one you find will guarantee their work and will do a good job for you.
