Awful House Painters

I hired a mom and pop team to paint the walls in my home. I think that is where the mistake reared its ugly head.

First off, they showed up 2 hours late. When they showed up, I was on my way out the door to pick up my child from a friend's house. I had to call her friend's mom and have her bring my child home so I could stay with the painters.

Then, as he was painting, the man was actually drinking! He had brought a cooler of beer. I thought he had some nerve but I still didn't say anything because I know that its hard work and figured he did this all the time.

He then progressed into a drunken stupor and spilled paint on my carpet. I have yet to be reimbursed for that.

On top of it all, the job was never finished, because they just left one day and never came back. I tried calling several times but no answer.. I had to call another company in.

I cannot believe that someone would act like this on a job! I should have called the cops right then.

Before you hire a painting contractor, check their reputation! Professional painting contractors have letters of recommendation as well as photos of their finished work. If i needed painting service again, I would ask for those 2 things.

When you hire a new painter give him a small job first. See how he works and if he delivers on his promises. If all's good continue, if not no harm done financially and to your house.
