A Colorful House Painting Event!!!

Well with this one I don't really know where to start. Well I needed to paint my house and I decided to ask a family member if they knew anyone that could do the job.

So after about a week my uncle called and said that he had a friend who needed some work! I was on it, the guy said that he would have the job done in about a week. I was happy with that and gave him the job.

Well to make a long story short, three weeks into the job (nice week, LOL) I came home to blue paint all over my new car, and boat!!!! It seems that one of the valves or something on one of their sprayers failed. That and the fact that the guy left the compressor on!!! Caused five gallons of paint to be sprayed in a mice fine mist all over the garage.

So after going to court I was awarded the legal limit of 5k. So after repainting the garage, boat and, car I was out 20k. Not to mention paying to have house painted.

My biggest mistake was following my family's advice without checking out the house painter first. If I could give anyone advice I would say to always check out anyone who is doing any work in, or around your home. Oh ya make sure they have insurance. Well I hope my story makes you think a little, I would hate to see anyone go through the same thing I did.
